The Catcher In The Rye

Hello! So In case you didn't notice, I'm reading The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger


This drab novel, so far, is boring. It aggravates me that Salinger repeats himself and makes me feel like I'm delirious. Also-and this may be the sweet little Catholic girl in me, but Holden says A LOT of cuss words. 


I guess I would compare this novel to The Giver by Lois Lowry. The way Jonas thinks and acts is practically identical to Holden's thoughts on life and society. Jonas sees how the rest of his family and friends are choosing to live like and he just doesn't want to live like that. Likewise, Holden sees how the Pencey boys act and decides that he doesn't want to be like them. So he stops trying. He just gives up. 


I'm not sure what I'm going to do for my project... Maybe a poster? I'm brainstorming ideas  daily!
